I picked this up in a Target and began reading it on the
spot. I was captivated as I skimmed the
first chapter and got a taste of her witty, relatable, and self-deprecating
humor. I was so eager to get home and
finish the book, so imagine my disappointment when I became bored after the
first chapter.
Now, I haven’t read many books written from celebrities, and
it may be that this is a genre I’m just not interested in. It likely has nothing to do with the content
of this book. But as I read through this
book, I realized that I could care less about reading about the personal lives of
celebrities. Some people love that. And I thought I would too. But I prefer faster-paced novels with an
actual storyline.
With all this being said, I adore Lauren’s writing style,
and I imagine that anyone who lives for celebrity gossip would love this
book. But for anyone like me, who only
picked up this book because they watched all seasons of Gilmore Girls,
reconsider your choice and look at your other options. And if you do opt for this book, I’d
recommend grabbing the audio version… it may be a little livelier.
Lots of love,
SGH
