Sometimes I Lie Review

This book had me hooked from the very first page, and I remained completely captivated throughout.  It was truly a book I couldn’t put down.  My schoolwork and household chores took a hit because I read this book instead of doing the things I needed to do.  I’d say to myself, “Okay, when I get to the next chapter I’ll stop reading and do the dishes.”  But then the next chapter would come and I’d just have to find out what happened next.
I’ve read some negative reviews about this book that complain about the obscure ending or the plot twist in the middle of the story.

Regarding the ending: I’ll admit, I was a little taken aback by the last chapter, mostly because the main character you’ve gotten to know so well does some seemingly out-of-character things.  But as you think back on her actions (which you will, because the ending is powerful), you’ll realize they make more and more sense.
The character’s point of view as a hospital patient in a coma is incredibly fascinating.  It will make you want to be kinder and more understanding to patients that don’t seem to be aware of what is going on in the world outside them.  People always understand more than we think they do.

All in all, I will rave about this book to anyone who will listen.  It’s a five-star novel.

All my loving,
SGH
