This is a tricky one for me to review. I liked it, but I didn’t love it. But as far as self-help books go, I think
this is probably the best one out there.
(Other than the brilliant best-seller, The Secret, if that counts as
being in the self-help category).
Speaking of The Secret, the author of this book should have given The
Secret a major shout-out (don’t know why she didn’t as she attributed much of
her wisdom to other books) because she references The Law of Attraction and other
aspects of the The Secret countless times.
And I may be the biggest advocate of The Secret ever, so I feel like I
should have liked this book more. But I
just couldn’t bring myself to love it.
And I can’t put my finger on why.
Like I said, it is written so cleverly, the organization is impeccable,
the author is relatable, and I learned a TON by reading it. But there was just some element missing that is
keeping me from recommending this book all over my Facebook.
So, do I recommend this book? If you’re in a bit of a rut and need some
gentle encouragement and counsel for how to find yourself again, this book is
well-worth a read. But if you’re only
looking for a book to read at the end of a work-day or on a plane ride or by
the pool, this shouldn’t be at the top of the list. But whether or not you choose to invest your
time in this book remember, YOU, yes you, are a bada**. (Told you I learned a ton from this book.)
Love you lots,
Sissy Golden Hair
