Ladies and gentleman, I give this brilliant book 5 out of 5 stars.
I almost didn’t read this book
because the first chapter did not pull me in at all. But I am SO glad I pushed through because
this is my favorite YA book set in a Dystopian world that I have ever read. Dare I say it even beats the beloved Hunger
Games?
To be frank, I had a difficult time
with the main character at the beginning of the novel. I felt like the author tried a bit too hard
to make America seem like a tough and independent woman. In order to portray her this way, America does
and says some things that truly make you question her sanity. But after a few chapters, she quickly grows
on you and becomes one of your favorite heroines of all time. As with many YA
novels, this story involves a love triangle, BUT you’re in for lots of
surprises as this book isn’t predictable like so many others.
I loved this book so much, I read
the first three books in about four days.
It was one of those rare finds that can’t stop reading until you notice
you can’t see well anymore because your eyelids are half-closed from
exhaustion.
It’s a pure shame they didn’t go
through with the CW series they had planned for this book, because it deserves
a world of attention. RUN, (don’t walk),
yourself to your computer and buy this now on Amazon. And while you’re at it, add the second and
third book to your cart. Because the
author has a knack at leaving you on your toes at the end of each book. And you’ll go crazy without having the next
book in the series at your fingertips.
I wish I was in your shoes and
could read these books over again, without knowing what was going to happen next. Yeah, they’re THAT good.
All my love,
SGH
